Since September 2011, Dental Clinic Amsterdam has had its own highly experienced Invisalign specialist, Lotte Meereboer, in practice. On Monday morning you can be informed during an intake interview. During that consultation, Lotte will explain to you step by step what Invisalign can do for you.

What exactly is Invisalign?

Invisalign is an invisible and removable brace that consists of a clear plastic cover that is slid over the teeth. By continually putting in new covers, your teeth will gradually shift to the desired position.

How does Invisalign work?

During the first consultation, Lotte will analyze the problems with your teeth and determine what results you want to achieve. If Invisalign is right for you, a treatment plan will be created that takes your wishes into account. Lotte will take an impression of your teeth which will then be sent to the Invisalign lab for further processing. The prints are digitized to create a computerized 3-dimensional simulation of your treatment. Lotte will accurately prescribe and monitor the necessary tooth movements for the entire duration of your treatment. During the second consultation you will be able to view this virtual representation of your initial and final situation and all the steps in between. This way you know in advance what your smile will look like when the treatment is finished. As soon as you and Lotte agree to the treatment plan, the production of the aligners will start. These are numbered and you change them every 2 weeks. The number of aligners needed per treatment will vary per person. For a complete treatment, 18-36 aligners are usually required (9 to 18 months) for both the upper jaw and the lower jaw. You will know in advance exactly how long the treatment will last. To achieve the intended result, the aligners are worn day and night, except during meals and when brushing teeth. You will have monthly check-ups to monitor the progress of the treatment.
